We were commissioned by The University of Sheffield to design and deliver the
extension to the School of Clinical Dentistry to increase its research and teaching
facilities. The project received funding from the Science Research Investment Fund
and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, in a collaboration between
the University and neighbouring Charles Clifford Dental Hospital. The four-storey
extension links with the existing school and hospital buildings and provides both
partners with much needed specialist additional accommodation. The design
incorporates solar controlled glazing and solar shading to minimise the energy
consumption of the building.
